I prefer Millionaire, but not bad

Check out this article on Orlando Sentinel’s website.

Apparently, Disney is putting in an American Idol game show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly know as MGM Studios).

According to the article, the Idol show/game is going to take place in the theater next to Sounds Dangerous. This makes quite a bit of sense because the only time I’ve seen that theater used is for Star Wars Weekends (it might be used for other similar themed weekends, but who goes to any of those?).

Anyway, the premise of the Disney Idol is that you try out in one of a few different areas. If you are good, you get a little extra training. Then you perform in front of a live Disney crowd. If you win that contest, you get an automatic try-out in front of the real Idol judges.

If you are a fan of American Idol (so, pretty much everyone… besides me), this sounds like it will be cool. I guess it does help replace the loss of Who Wants to be a Millionaire in the Hollywood Studios.

It should be fun and another solid attraction at Hollywood Studios once complete. Right now, Hollywood Studios is a bit rough. They have the Tower of Terror, Rock’n Roller Coaster, and Movie Ride, but some of the better attractions are being redone (i.e. Millionaire is being replaced with Toy Story Mania).
