You know what is starting to piss me off? The Heroes’ slogans.
It all started off with the absolutely idiotic “Save the Cheerleader. Save the World.”
Then they went to “Are you on the List?”
Now they seem to be doing a new one each week.
It wasn’t cool the first time. Stop doing it.
By the way, tonight there is supposed to be an actual hero vs. hero fight. To which I say, “about time.” How can you have a show about superheroes and go 10+ episodes with out a fight? That’s insane. (Note: I don’t count the Sylar vs. Peter Patrelli a fight becuase Peter was just running away for most of it. You could, however, convince me that Jessica versus D.L. Hughley was a fight).

Yesterday (Sunday 2/11/07) I watched three movies over the course of the day.
First, I had received The Invincible Iron Man from Netflix. This is a cartoon version of the Iron Man creation story (I think. To be honest, I don’t know much about Iron Man). I rented this movie because I do enjoy comic book movies and I am excited to see the Live action Iron Man. For the most part, I liked the movie. It gave me a quick introduction to the characters and also kept the plot going. The animation was very good. The dialogue was decent. The action was solid. On the downside, some of the voice work was terrible (I’m looking at you, Li Mei [voiced by Gwendoline Yao]). Every word of dialogue she said like she had just finished running a marathon. Another down-point is the stories main villain, Mandarin, never really shows up in the movie. It’s mostly Iron Man versus minions. Overall, I enjoyed The Invincible Iron Man and I gave it 4 stars out of 5 on Netflix.
The second movie I watched yesterday was Employee of the Month (NO, not the Dane Cook-Jessica Simpson piece of trash). This movie stars Matt Dillion as well as a slew of people that have reached semi-celebrity status (i.e. Steve Zahn, Dave Foley, Christina Applegate, and Jenna Fischer). The movie does have some funny and exciting parts (see: Jenna Fischer). For the most part it entertains but it gives of an amateurish vibe (i.e. cheesy/cliched dialogue and somewhat predictable plot). Overall, this movie reminded me quite a bit of Wild Things but with less male nudity and without Bill Murray stealing the show. I gave it a 3 out of 5 on Netflix.
The last movie I watched was The Devil Wears Prada. According to Patti, I would probably like this movie. So, I gave it a whirl. Anne Hathaway did a pretty good job at looking cute. But as part of the plot, she was supposed to start dressing really good, but all those outfits looked horrible. It made no sense. It would be like going to see a Rocky movie, watching the work out cut scenes, and then Rocky comes to the fight looking like DJ Qualls. Besides that, Emily Blunt could be a big player in upcoming movies. She just needs that one lead role to push her up there. Besides the good looking duo of girls, there’s nothing worth seeing in this movie. There is no wit or comedy as one would expect in a movie like this. There was basically no romance. It’s just a bunch of scenes of a boss giving an employee work. It is really tedious to get through 109 minutes of that. Overall I gave this movie 2 stars out of 5 on Netflix.
By the way, isn’t it interesting that as the day went on the quality of movie went down. Also, looking at the types of movies, one would expect a big budget movie to be the best, followed by the limited release indy, and then the straight-to-video. But with these three movies it is the complete opposite. Truely odd.

I was looking at Netflix today and saw a documentary that sounded pretty good. It got me to thinking about what subject would I do a documentary on. Then my mind took a tangent and thought of the MPAA – This Film is Not Yet Rated. This got me to thinking of Penn and Teller’s BS. I wondered if they had done or were planning on doing an episode on the MPAA.
When I got onto the Showtime website, I found out that season 5 of P&T BS is just about to start up. This reminded me that in previous seasons, P&T issued the previous year’s season on DVD at the same time the new season was starting up. So, I looked over on TVShowsOnDVD.com and found out that P&T BS season 4 is coming out on DVD in one week (2/20/07 to be exact).
How come this is the first I’ve heard of this? I should have been on top of this from the beginning.
Anyway, this week would be a good time to rent/buy/rewatch the previous 3 season of BS. If you haven’t seen the show before, it is one of the best shows on TV, but it is out on Showtime. So, it gets less viewership than it should. It blends a sense of humor with the ability to bash stupid ideas. It’s great.
